Effect of Adenomyosis on the Cumulative Live Birth Rate in Oocyte Donation Cycles – RBMO

Reproductive BioMedicine Online (RBMO) shared a post on LinkedIn:

“This study aimed to evaluate the impact of adenomyosis on the cumulative live-birth rate (RCLB) in women undergoing single-embryo transfer (SET) in donor-oocyte cycles, with specific attention to the type, location, and severity of the disease.

The results from Mauro Cozzolino and team, highlight the importance of the correct description of the location of adenomyosis by ultrasound because women with adenomyosis in the OM + JZ presented a lower CLBR, even not significant the CLBR in women with diffuse + focal adenomyosis seem reduced, meaning that severe form of adenomyosis affect clinical results.

Serum progesterone does not appear to be lower in women with adenomyosis; however, if progesterone resistance exists, it should be overcome by increasing the progesterone dose and administering it using different routes.
