Sergei Gorlovetsky: The Invisible Work Breaking Fertility Clinics
Sergei Gorlovetsky, Co-Founder at Developing Intelligent Fertility Solutions, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“A fertility coordinator’s job description says: ‘Manage patient communication and scheduling.’
Here’s what they actually do on a Monday:
- 47 messages before 10am
- 12 of them are “did my bloodwork come back normal?”
- 8 are ‘what time is my appointment?’
- 6 are ‘can you explain my medication schedule again?’
- 3 are panicked calls about a missed dose at 2am
None of that is clinical work. All of it is urgent to the patient.
I’ve spent 6 years building software for fertility clinics. The 1st thing I’ve learned: the communication layer is where clinics break – not the lab, not the OR, not the EMR.
The coordinators holding it together are burning out. Not because the work is hard. Because it’s repetitive, invisible, and never-ending.
That’s the problem we’re solving at Fertiligent.”
