“We’re excited to share that a new Good Practice Recommendations paper is now available for stakeholder review!
The draft focuses on Expanded Carrier Screening (ECS) for reproductive purposes—helping identify individuals or couples who may carry genetic variants linked to inherited conditions and supporting informed reproductive decision-making.
Key areas covered:
- Clinical implementation and care pathways
- Genetic counselling (pre- and post-test, informed consent)
- Ethical and legal considerations (access, data privacy, reporting)
- Technical standards (panel design, validity, interpretation)
- Future research priorities
Review period: 15 May – 12 June 2026
