On 2 October 2026, RTÉ announced Fertility Uncovered, a documentary examining patient protection in Ireland’s fertility sector.
The broadcaster says its year-long investigation includes patients’ experiences, undercover filming, treatment promotion, and access to publicly funded IVF.
RTÉ raises questions about controversial treatments and gaps in oversight. Ireland established its Assisted Human Reproduction Regulatory Authority in October 2025, so this is not a claim that the sector has no regulation.
