These recommendations are only guidelines that must be adapted to the experience of each center and therefore should not always be taken literally.

This source details updated clinical guidelines on the use of pretreatment therapies prior to ovarian stimulation in in vitro fertilization processes. The paper discusses various interventions, such as the use of estrogens, progestogens, and oral contraceptives, concluding that these hormones do not improve success rates in the birth of babies. The use of combined contraceptives is specifically discouraged because they may reduce the effectiveness of reproductive treatment. Although these methods are useful for organizing clinic and patient calendars, scientific evidence does not support their routine use to increase safety or fertility. Finally, the text examines other options such as GnRH antagonists and the hormone hCG, determining that more research is still required to validate their benefits.”
