Christopher Robinson, Associate Professor of Maternal-Fetal Medicine at the University of South Carolina and Executive Chair of the Foundation for the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine, shared a post on LinkedIn about a paper by Karin A. Fox et al. published in AJOG:
“AJOG Expert Review in Cesarean: Surgical management of complex cesarean delivery
Uterine dehiscence
The lower segment is markedly thinned and seems somewhat darker than the thicker myometrium as amniotic fluid is seen deep to the thinned scar.
Gentle pressure from the surgeon’s fingers causes vernix within the amniotic cavity to swirl, and this can be seen through the translucent scar wall (arrows in video).”
