Embryos are preserved using vitrification, a rapid cryopreservation technique that minimises ice-crystal formation.
Stored in liquid nitrogen at around -196°C, embryos can remain preserved until they are needed.
When the time is right, the embryo is carefully thawed and prepared for frozen embryo transfer (FET).
A little science today can preserve an important possibility for tomorrow.”
