The abstract for the first paper from my PhD research is now online, with the full open access article coming soon.
This paper explores something that came through incredibly strongly in the women’s stories in my research:
How you are told you have POI matters.
The words used.
Where the conversation happens.
What information is given.
What isn’t said.
And what happens afterwards.
A diagnosis of POI can have implications far beyond fertility, and the way that diagnosis is communicated can shape a woman’s understanding and experience of it.
It feels quite surreal to see the first piece of my PhD research beginning to make its way out into the world, particularly because behind the research are women who generously trusted me with their experiences and stories!
