Khaled Kteily: A $1M Study to Validate Mail-In Fertility Testing
Khaled Kteily, Founder and CEO at Legacy, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“This post been a long-time coming.
Mail-in semen analysis has been around for nearly a decade. But the published research validating it against in-clinic collection? Still surprisingly limited.
We’ve kicked off a $1M study, starting with 1,500 total assays across the core questions that clinicians keep asking us:
- How does CASA compare to BASA in real-world conditions?
- What happens to motility over time during transit?
- How do DNA fragmentation results compare across collection methods?
- How does cryopreservation and post-thaw performance hold up?
- Are mail-in samples sufficient for IVF/IUI use?
The goal isn’t just to validate our kit. It’s to generate the kind of generalizable, publishable data the field has been missing, so that clinicians have the evidence base they need to make confident decisions about mail-in testing for their patients.
The study will be overseen by our CMO, Dr. Scott Lundy, who also serves as Director of the Male Infertility Section at Cleveland Clinic.
If you’re a clinician working in this space, we’d love to talk. Find us at the ‘Give Legacy’ booth at American Urological Association this weekend.
