Pawel Kordowitzki: Maternal Vitamin D Homeostasis, Pregnancy Outcomes and Offspring Health
Pawel Kordowitzki, University Professor at Nicolaus Copernicus University, shared a post on LinkedIn about a paper he co-authored with colleagues, published in The Lancet Obstetrics, Gynaecology, and Women’s Health:
“I’m thrilled to share that our article, ‘Maternal vitamin D homoeostasis: integrating adverse pregnancy outcomes and offspring health,’ was published yesterday in the outstanding journal The Lancet Obstetrics, Gynaecology, and Women’s Health.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to my co-authors, Prof. JoAnn E. Manson and Prof. Scott T. Weiss, both internationally renowned experts, for their invaluable contributions to this article and for sharing their expertise.
My special thanks also go to the editors, Sonia Muliyil and Ben Burwood, for their support and for helping bring this work to publication. It is an important topic, as vitamin D deficiency remains clinically significant and is associated with adverse pregnancy and fertility outcomes. Emerging evidence highlights the importance of vitamin D in reproductive health, while its persistently high prevalence among women of reproductive age in many parts of the world remains an important public health concern.
I hope our article will contribute to the ongoing discussion on maternal vitamin D homeostasis, pregnancy outcomes, and the long-term health of the offspring.”
