Ting Yuan: Male Fertility Beyond the Semen Analysis
Ting Yuan, Co-Founder and Clinical Director at Zhaoxi Fertility Center Malaysia, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Weekly Case Insight
Similar semen findings do not always mean the same underlying issue.
31-year-old male, After approximately 3 months of individualized care:
- Morphology (normal forms): 1% → 3%
- Progressive motility: 50% → 60%
What interested me was not only the numbers. This patient also had a long history of recurrent colds, respiratory sensitivity and skin sensitivity.
One thing I continue to see in male fertility: we do not always need to look only at the reproductive system. Sometimes the issue may involve the broader internal environment. The body functions as an interconnected ecosystem.this is also why I believe individualization matters.
Same semen findings different patterns, different approaches. Another observation: male fertility testing continues to evolve, from count, motility and morphology to DFI and beyond. But no report fully captures human complexity – A ‘normal’ report does not always mean the whole picture is understood.
‘Treat the person. Not just the sperm report.'”
