Asma Khalil: Prevention of Complications in Obstetrics, From Risk Recognition to Safer Outcomes
Asma Khalil, Professor of Maternal Fetal Medicine at St. George’s Hospital, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“I’m delighted to share the publication of our new book, Prevention of Complications in Obstetrics, edited together with Professor Yariv Yogev.
From Risk Recognition to Safer Outcomes.
This book presents a clear and cohesive vision of prevention across the entire perinatal continuum, highlighting how early identification of risk and timely, evidence-based interventions can improve maternal and neonatal outcomes.
Bringing together preventive strategies in pregnancy, labour and newborn care, it bridges theory and daily clinical practice. The chapters guide clinicians through key risk factors, practical preventive measures and decision-making frameworks designed to reduce complications before they occur.
Particular attention is given to real-world clinical settings, including environments with limited resources, where effective prevention can have the greatest impact.
We hope this evidence-based and practical resource will support clinicians, trainees and researchers working to improve care for mothers and babies worldwide.
My sincerest thankyou to my Co-Editor YYariv Yogev and to all the authors and contributors who made this possible.
Available now.”
