Hala El Damanhoury: The Right Questions Shape Better Birth Experiences
Hala El Damanhoury, Ob/gyn specialist, Quality of health care and IPC manager, sahred a post on LinkedIn:
“The power is not in the ability to answer questions; the real power lies in the ability to ask the right questions.
Today, we completed data collection for our study on the validation of the Arabic Birth Satisfaction Scale-Revised (BSS-R) in Egypt.
This milestone comes at a particularly important time, coinciding with the launch of the Egyptian Midwifery Program and the growing national efforts to promote safe vaginal birth, improve women’s childbirth experiences, and strengthen woman-centered maternity care.
The Arabic BSS-R will provide healthcare providers, researchers, educators, and policymakers with a reliable and culturally appropriate instrument to measure women’s perceptions of labour and birth, assess the impact of quality improvement initiatives, and support evidence-based maternity care reforms.
I am proud that this work was conducted at El Galaa Teaching Hospital, one of Egypt’s leading institutions in maternal healthcare and professional training.
My sincere thanks to all participating mothers, the research team, and the staff who contributed to this important project. I look forward to sharing the results soon.”
