Asma Khalil: Pattern Recognition Is a Fundamental Skill in Point-of-Care Ultrasound
Asma Khalil, Professor of Maternal Fetal Medicine at St. George’s Hospital, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Pattern recognition is a fundamental skill in point-of-care ultrasound.
This clip demonstrates two important lung ultrasound findings:
- The Bat Sign – created by the ribs and pleural line
- A-lines – horizontal reverberation artefacts seen in normally aerated lungs
Recognising normal ultrasound appearances is often the first step towards identifying pathology.”
