Fabian Laumer: AI-Assisted Detection of Deep Endometriosis
Fabian Laumer,Research And Development Engineer at HSR Hochschule für Technik Rapperswil, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Susanne Johnson shared a striking video of how quickly an expert can recognize deep endometriosis on transvaginal ultrasound.
The key point for me is not only that the finding can be visible within seconds in experienced hands, but that many patients still go through years of symptoms and repeated ‘normal’ scans before endometriosis is suspected.
The video shows an example of how we at Scanvio Medical are planning to support clinicians during live ultrasound examination: The raw ultrasound video is shown on the left, while the right side shows the AI overlay highlighting pelvic organs with the rectal endometriosis nodule shown in red.
Credit for the original ultrasound video: Susanne Johnson.
If you are involved in endometriosis ultrasound or gynecologic imaging, I would be very happy to connect.”
