“AJOG Surgeon’s Corner: How to avoid placental transection during low transverse cesarean delivery for anterior placenta previa – Transplacental fetal extraction
The proximity between an anterior placenta previa and the lower uterine segment (A) increases the risk of creating an incision through the placenta and transplacental fetal extraction, which leads to additional fetal bleeding because of disruption of the fetal vasculature within the placenta (B).”
