“Proud to have been the Session Partner for this insightful discussion at the 3rd National IVF Summit 2026.
Session Topic: Beyond PGT-A: The Future of Embryo Genomics in IVF
A sincere thank you to VOICE OF HEALTHCARE for the opportunity to support a meaningful conversation on the future of fertility care in India.
We are grateful to all the esteemed panelists Dr Vipin Chandra Dr. Sarabpreet Singh Gunjan Gupta Govil Dr Bhawana Aggarwal Dr. Rajni Khajuria for sharing their expertise, perspectives, and vision for advancing reproductive medicine and genetics
It was an honour to contribute to a dialogue focused on innovation, collaboration, and better patient outcomes.”
Dr Vipin Chandra, Director at Matcare Maternity, shared Lilac Insights’s post, adding:
‘Beyond PGT-A: The Future of Embryo Genomics in IVF
Honored to moderate a thought-provoking panel discussion at VOH on one of the most exciting frontiers in reproductive medicine — ‘Beyond PGT-A: The Future of Embryo Genomics in IVF.’
As IVF continues to evolve from morphology-based embryo selection to precision reproductive medicine, we explored a fundamental question:
Are we moving from selecting chromosomally normal embryos to identifying the biologically most competent embryo?
Together with an outstanding panel of experts: Sarabpreet Singh Gunjan Gupta Govil Dr Bhawana Agarwal Dr. Rajni Khajuria
we discussed some of the most debated topics shaping the future of ART:
- Has PGT-A reached its biological ceiling?
- Should Expanded Carrier Screening become routine before IVF?
- Polygenic Risk Scoring (PRS): science, promise, and limitations
- Mosaic embryos — from discard to individualized transfer decisions
- Mitochondrial DNA and embryo competence
- AI + Genomics: can we better predict implantation and live birth?
- Multi-omics and the emergence of precision embryo selection
- Ethical boundaries of embryo genomics and reproductive decision-making
Key Takeaways
- PGT-A remains the most validated genomic tool in IVF, but embryo competence extends far beyond aneuploidy.
- Expanded Carrier Screening is increasingly becoming a cornerstone of preventive reproductive genomics and should be offered to all IVF patients
- Polygenic Risk Scoring remains scientifically intriguing but have to look if it’s ready for routine embryo selection.
- Mosaic embryos represent a spectrum of developmental potential and should not be automatically discarded.
- The future of embryo selection will likely integrate genomics, transcriptomics, metabolomics, epigenomics, embryo-endometrial interaction, and AI-driven analytics.
Looking Ahead
The most exciting consensus from the discussion was that the future is unlikely to be defined by a single technology.
Rather, the next decade may bring:
AI + Multi-Omics + Non-Invasive Testing + Precision Reproductive Medicine
to create a true ‘Embryo Competence Score’ capable of predicting not only implantation, but the probability of a healthy live birth and healthy child.
As I concluded during the session:
‘The future challenge in IVF is no longer identifying which embryo is chromosomally normal, but determining which embryo has the greatest potential to become a healthy child.’
My sincere thanks to the organizers, fellow panelists, and an exceptionally engaged audience for making this an intellectually stimulating discussion.
