Christopher Robinson: Surgical Management of Complex Cesarean Delivery by Uterine Tourniquet
Christopher Robinson, Associate Professor Maternal Fetal Medicine at University of South Carolina, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“AJOG Expert Review in Cesarean: Uterine tourniquet
A Penrose drain has been placed at the uterine isthmus and tied securely to reduce perfusion from the uterine arteries. Avascular windows in the parametria may be made and the tourniquet placed through these windows. In emergent cases, simple ligation around the isthmus may be necessary.”
