Stephen Parker Ellington: An Encouraging Story for Fertility And Women’s Reproductive Choice
Stephen Parker Ellington, Founder and CEO of Novara, shared on LinkedIn:
“A (mostly) encouraging story for fertility and women’s reproductive choice.
When AOC took to Instagram to share one of the more private moments in her egg freezing process, it rightfully sparked an outpouring of support. Many who are going through or have gone through this process said they felt seen, while many more championed the empowering message that women should not feel ashamed to take control of their own fertility journey.
Unfortunately, reactions in some circles highlight exactly why this type of advocacy is needed to continue to push for awareness and access. Additionally, while coverage mandates are expanding, many women without proper fertility benefits are expected to pay upwards of $20k plus ongoing storage costs just for the freedom to plan a family on their own terms.
The continued destigmatization of treatment, coupled with innovations in areas like ovarian tissue preservation and egg rejuvenation, is creating a much brighter future for fertility planning.”
