Jyoti Gupta: What’s the Difference Between IUI and IVF?
Jyoti Gupta, Senior IVF Specialist at Motherhood Hospital, shared on LinkedIn:
“IUI vs IVF – What’s the Difference?
IUI and IVF are both fertility treatments, but they are not the same – and the right option depends on your individual fertility needs.
IUI (Intrauterine Insemination)
A simpler, minimally invasive treatment where prepared sperm is placed directly into the uterus around ovulation.
IVF (In Vitro Fertilization)
Eggs are retrieved and fertilized with sperm in a laboratory, followed by embryo transfer into the uterus.
The choice between IUI and IVF depends on factors such as age, ovarian reserve, sperm health, fallopian tube status, diagnosis, and previous treatment history.
There is no ‘one treatment fits all‘ approach. A proper fertility evaluation can help determine what is most suitable for you.
