“Why I Walk with Kelsie Martinez of the Raleigh, NC Promise Walk for Preeclampsia.
Kelsie writes,
‘Less than 24 hours after bringing my first son home, I was readmitted to the hospital with postpartum preeclampsia, a condition I didn’t see coming after a healthy pregnancy. At first, I brushed off the symptoms as just new parent exhaustion, but checking my blood pressure at home made all the difference.
That experience changed everything: my postpartum journey, my second pregnancy, and how I view my health. I walk to help ensure all families have access to the information, support, and care they need before and after preeclampsia. Becoming a parent is hard enough, we all deserve the tools to take care of ourselves and our families.’
Join Kelsie and walk in the Raleigh, NC Promise Walk for Preeclampsia on September 12 at 11 am at Pullen Park, Shelter #4.
