Updated Patient Safety Guidelines on Infection Prevention in Ultrasound Examinations – SMFM
The Society for Maternal – Fetal Medicine (SMFM) shared on LinkedIn:
”SMFM has updated its Patient Safety Guidelines on infection prevention in ultrasound examinations, and the scope has expanded.
Building on our 2020 guidelines, this update now includes transabdominal examinations and ultrasound-guided percutaneous and intraoperative procedures, along with updated recommendations on high-level disinfection systems and the latest evidence on HPV virucidal efficacy.
Guidelines are aligned with AIUM, CDC, and FDA recommendations.”
