Jesuloungbogbo Adigun։ What Did Working in the Field of Fertility Teach You That Studying It Never Could?

Jesuloungbogbo Adigun, Embryologist at Ayomide Women’s Health Specialist Hospital and Womb Seed Fertility Centre, shared on LinkedIn:

“I was used to learning the reproductive system from textbooks.

But my exposure to IVF taught me patience.

The ‘check it again, document it properly, follow the process, and don’t rush’ kind.

As a Human Anatomy student, I was used to learning the reproductive system from textbooks.

  • Structures.
  • Functions.
  • Hormones.
  • Processes.

Then I got the opportunity to train in andrology and gain exposure to embryology support in a fertility setting.

And suddenly, what I had studied wasn’t just a diagram anymore.

I began to see how much precision, documentation, and care go into work that most people never get to see.

That experience changed the way I looked at fertility care.

And I think that’s a lesson I’ll carry far beyond the laboratory.

If you work in fertility or reproductive health, what did working in the field teach you that studying it never could?”
