Valuable Complementary Information on Follicular Sensitivity During Ovarian Stimulation – RBMO
Reproductive BioMedicine Online (RBMO) shared a post on LinkedIn about a paper by Laura Melado et al.:
“This retrospective cohort study involving over 2000 ovarian stimulation cycles evaluated the association between AMH-AFC ratio and dynamic markers of ovarian responsiveness, including follicular output rate (FOR) and follicle-to-oocyte index (FOI).
The results presented by Laura Melado Vidales and co-authors in this paper may provide valuable complementary information on follicular sensitivity during ovarian stimulation.
Although it does not outperform the combined use of AMH and AFC for predicting absolute oocyte yield, the ratio may help identify women with discordant ovarian reserve profiles who are at risk of suboptimal response despite apparently reassuring follicle counts and may support more tailored stimulation strategies and improved patient counselling.
