Rafael Trinchant, Clinical Embryologist at Hospital Universitario Son Llàtzer, shared a post on LinkedIn about a paper he authored with Felicitas Azpiroz published in Human Reproduction:
”I am thrilled to share that our article, ‘Semen, stigma, and spectacle: reclaiming the narrative around male reproductive health,’ has just been published in Human Reproduction.
I am especially happy to have written this paper with my colleague and friend Felicitas Azpiroz, whose personal and professional perspective has been a constant source of inspiration.
The idea for this paper started taking shape about a year ago. But it was during ESHRE 2026 – somewhere between scientific sessions, drinks with friends, and one of those conversations that never really seems to end – that it finally came together.
We kept coming back to the same questions: male reproductive health, stigma and masculinity, the meaning we attach to sperm, and even the financial value we assign to cells from the human body.
Those conversations eventually became this paper.
