Understanding the Clinical Implications of Ovulation Induction – Fertility Plus
Fertility Plus shared on LinkedIn:
“Understanding the clinical implications of ovulation induction is crucial for those on the journey to conception.
When a trigger is administered, it sets off a precisely timed sequence that leads to egg maturation. Typically, the egg resumes meiosis and reaches metaphase II around 35 hours later. Following this, the follicle wall weakens, and rupture occurs approximately 36–48 hours post-trigger. Timing is everything! Egg collection must be executed after maturation but before spontaneous ovulation to maximize chances of success.
It’s important to note that if multiple mature follicles are present, they can both respond to circulating hCG, increasing the risk of multiple pregnancies.
Stay informed and consult with your healthcare provider about the best approach for your fertility journey!”
