Lucy Froese: When Fertility Struggles Begin to Come Between Couples…
Lucy Froese, Fertility and IVF Coach, shared on LinkedIn:
” ‘I’m scared I’ll never be able to give my daughter a brother or sister.’
That was the fear one of my clients brought to me.
She was struggling with secondary infertility, had low AMH, and was preparing for IVF.
Her clinic anticipated that they might collect around six eggs.
She wanted to move forward with treatment.
Her husband wasn’t as sure.
They both wanted to grow their family, but they were experiencing the journey very differently.
And fertility was beginning to come between them.
When we started working together, she was anxious, exhausted, and carrying the weight of what felt like an enormous decision.
She was frightened IVF wouldn’t work.
Frightened she would let her daughter down.
And frightened that she and her husband were becoming increasingly disconnected when they needed one another most.
We worked on processing those fears rather than allowing them to control every decision.
We helped her feel calmer and more grounded going into treatment.
And we worked on helping her and her husband communicate, reconnect, and feel like a team again.
Then came egg collection.
Her clinic had anticipated around six eggs.
They collected 18.
Those eggs resulted in 11 embryos.
She later had a frozen embryo transfer, and her first transfer worked.
After being prepared for the possibility that she might not respond well, these were phenomenal results.
But her transformation had begun long before the positive pregnancy test.
She entered treatment feeling calmer and more able to cope with the uncertainty.
She and her husband felt reconnected.
And she no longer felt that she had to carry all the fear by herself.
That is the work I do.
If you’re preparing for IVF while quietly terrified it won’t work, or fertility struggles are creating distance between you and your partner, book a free consultation through the link in my profile.
