PMOS Was Never Just About the Ovaries… – PCOS Awareness Association
PCOS Awareness Association shared on LinkedIn:
”PMOS was never just about your ovaries. That was the problem.
Here’s what actually gets affected:
- Your hormones (polyendocrine),
- Your metabolism (insulin, weight, cholesterol),
- Your ovaries (irregular cycles, fertility).
Add in skin changes like acne or excess hair growth, and mood symptoms that rarely get mentioned in the same breath as a ‘reproductive’ diagnosis.
That’s the whole point of the new name. It puts all of it on the page instead of hiding most of it behind a word about cysts you might not even have.
If your doctor has only ever talked to you about your cycle, it’s time to bring the rest of the conversation with you.
We’ve got the language and the resources.”
