ASRM has a new terminology for those preserving their Oocytes to extend their fertility window for future use-
՛Planned OC (oocyte cryopreservation) ՛
Researchers in the United Kingdom have suggested the term ՛oocyte cryopreservation for Anticipated Gamete Exhaustion՛ or ՛AGE՛․
This, to some extent, endeavours to remove the stigma attached to egg freezing when it was termed ՛social freezing՛ in the layman terminology!
՛Fertility Preservation՛ now mostly deals with oncology or other medical condition-related cryopreservation of gametes and embryos!”
