Robert Borowczyk: We Judge the Newest IVF Consultation Group Too Quickly…

Robert Borowczyk, Founder and CEO of Irresist, shared on LinkedIn։

“I think we judge the newest IVF consultation group too quickly.

It can look like the weakest group for a simple reason:

Many later treatment starts have not had time to happen yet.

An older group has had longer for people to start treatment. The newest group has not.

If a report already counts everyone without a treatment start as a failure, the newest group will look worse partly because its story is still unfinished.

A patient with no treatment start recorded yet may later start treatment.

They may also never start. At this point, the clinic does not know.

That missing answer can change with time, which is exactly why I would not label it too early.

For me, ‘not yet’ and ‘no’ should not be treated as the same answer.

If they are, leadership can react before the result is really known.

Budget, staffing, access or follow-up can change because the newest group looks weak.

I would rather call that result incomplete than bad.

Before I trust the latest number, I want to know whether the people behind it have had enough time for the result we are measuring to happen.”
