“Quick recap of the recent CFAS meeting in Calgary, Canada.
It was great to reconnect with colleagues from Canada and around the world.
Lots of excellent abstracts, presentations, workshops, and scientific debates; the good kind that makes you think twice.
Thank you to Cooper Surgical Fertility Solutions and CaseBioscience for the dinner invitations, and to the teams from Vitrolife Group, Kitazato, and Fertility Matters Canada for some great conversations.
A big thank you to the 151 embryologists who completed the survey I shared here on LinkedIn, we were also able to present our work:

Finally, congratulations to Dr. Mohamed Bedaiwy on becoming CFAS President for 2027, a well-deserved position.
At the same time, it was great to remember Dr. Al Yuzpe, whose passing is a great loss to the fertility community. I feel fortunate to have met him over the years and will always remember the small personal moments: once giving me rosemary from his backyard, and another time sending me an email saying, ‘I am one of your biggest fans.’ Those simple gestures meant a lot to me. RIP.
We need more caring and kind people like this in our world and societies, especially at a time when so many parts of the world are facing aggression, chaos, and destruction.
Small acts of kindness, empathy, and humanity matter more than ever.”
