Yanhe Liu: How Refinements in PGT Laboratory Procedures May Influence Clinical Outcomes
Yanhe Liu, National Scientific Director at City Fertility and Clinical Associate Professor at The University of Western Australia, shared a post on LinkedIn about a paper he co-authored with colleagues published in Reproductive Biomedicine Online:
“New publication – Optimising PGT laboratory practice
Following our previous meta-analysis on the impact of double biopsy and double vitrification on euploid embryo transfer outcomes in Human Reproduction 2024, we continue to explore how refinements in PGT laboratory procedures may influence clinical outcomes.
Our newly published systematic review and meta-analysis in Reproductive BioMedicine Online examines another important question: day 5/6 sequential hatching and biopsy versus day 3 artificial hatching.
Our findings suggest potential improvements in clinical pregnancy and live birth rates with day 5/6 sequential hatching/biopsy, alongside increased reporting of mosaicism and no PGT result.
Together, these studies highlight the importance of critically evaluating every step of the PGT workflow, balancing laboratory practice, genetic reporting and clinical outcomes.”
