Fred Ushakov: The Future of Prenatal Screening, The Future of Your Practice
Fred Ushakov, Co-Founder and Chief Medical Officer at Amnio, shared on LinkedIn:
“The future of prenatal screening. The future of your practice.
Prenatal screening is changing.
For decades, the 11–14-week scan has been a cornerstone of first-trimester screening.
But today, NIPT is available around 10 weeks, ultrasound technology has advanced dramatically, and we can assess much more of the early fetal anatomy than many clinicians realise.
So should we still think about ultrasound and NIPT as separate parts of prenatal screening? I believe the future lies in integrating them.
The 10 Week Scan is not simply about scanning two weeks earlier. It represents a different model: bringing early fetal anatomy and genomics together at the same important stage of pregnancy.
And this change may also create an important opportunity for your own clinical practice.
