Immune Profile and Nausea Link in Early Pregnancy – Biotics Research Corporation
Biotics Research Corporation shared a post on LinkedIn:
“New research sheds light on how the immune system may drive common first-trimester symptoms – like nausea, vomiting, and food or odor aversions. A study of 58 pregnant women found that a more inflammatory immune profile was linked to stronger and longer-lasting aversions and nausea
Key findings:
- 64% reported odor aversions (especially to tobacco smoke)
- 64% reported food aversions, most often to meat
- Higher Th1 inflammatory immune activity was associated with more nausea, vomiting, and aversions
- Suggests these symptoms may be part of an adaptive, protective immune response during early pregnancy”
