Evaluating Mid-Luteal Progesterone in Embryo Transfer Cycles – RBMO
Reproductive BioMedicine Online shared a post on LinkedIn about a paper by Elena Labarta et al. published in RBMO:
“Selected by our Chief-Editors as their Editor’s Choice article from our February issue, this is the first prospective, blinded cohort study to evaluate the relationship between mid-luteal serum progesterone concentrations and ongoing pregnancy in modified natural cycle frozen embryo transfer (mNC-FET) cycles.
The results of the study by Elena Labarta and colleagues, show that in mNC-FET cycles with human chorionic gonadotrophin triggering and luteal phase support, mid-luteal serum progesterone concentrations were consistently adequate and not associated with pregnancy outcomes.
In this context, mNC with LPS could be a good alternative to artificial cycles (whenever possible) because they offer adequate progesterone concentrations in the luteal phase in practically the majority of patients.
All our Editor’s Choice papers are made free to read – find it in issue 51.2 now.”
