New Research on Oocyte Quality Challenges in DOR – RBMO
Reproductive BioMedicine Online shared a post on LinkedIn about a paper by En-Qi Yan et al. published in RBMO:
“How does diminished ovarian reserve (DOR) affect euploid blastocyst rates, and how many embryos need to be biopsied for women with DOR and those without DOR to achieve one euploid embryo?
The findings of this new study show that DOR patients have fewer euploid embryos but similar euploidy rates and pregnancy outcomes compared to non-DOR patients within the same age group. Furthermore, this research found that for women >39 years, repeated oocyte aspirations offer minimal benefit in increasing the acquisition of euploid embryos.
The limited embryo quantity remains the predominant challenge for DOR patients, rather than inferior oocyte quality.
