Asma Khalil, Professor of Maternal Fetal Medicine at St. George’s Hospital, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Caffeine is a part of many people’s daily routine, but pregnancy is a time to be mindful of how much you’re consuming.
Current evidence suggests that moderate caffeine intake is considered safe, while higher amounts may be associated with an increased risk of miscarriage, particularly in early pregnancy. It’s also worth remembering that caffeine isn’t just found in coffee—it can also be present in tea, chocolate, soft drinks and energy drinks.
Being aware of your total daily intake can help you make informed choices throughout your pregnancy.
