“Standard fertility testing gives you numbers. But numbers don’t always explain the bigger picture.

FSH, LH, AMH, antral follicle count, semen analysis, HSG and progesterone can all provide useful information. But they are snapshots.

They don’t always connect the dots between fertility and what’s happening across your hormonal, reproductive and overall health.

  • Why are your cycles painful, irregular or short?
  • Why are you dealing with fibroids, cysts or endometriosis?
  • Why do you have thyroid symptoms despite ‘normal’ results?
  • What role could your liver, gut, adrenals, nervous system and emotional health be playing?

Too often, women are given a set of numbers, told everything looks fine – or that age and egg quality are the problem – and then the conversation quickly moves towards IVF.

I keep speaking with women who have gone through one or more unsuccessful IVF cycles and are still asking:

‘Why isn’t this working?’

I believe fertility needs to be looked at as a whole.

That means understanding the body, hormones, reproductive health, nutrition, lifestyle, nervous system and emotional wellbeing – and connecting the pieces rather than looking at each one in isolation.

The root-cause gap is real. And until we start asking different questions, women can continue moving from one test or intervention to another without understanding what may be holding them back.
