“The introductory paper of the Pharmacoepidemiology and Drug Safety Special Series on ENCePP is online.

This Special Series is led by Helga Gardarsdottir, co-chair of the ENCePP Steering Group. It will feature several articles that expand on key chapters of the ENCePP Guide on Methodological Standards in Pharmacoepidemiology, covering topics such as:

  • Target trial emulation and estimand frameworks
  • AI in pharmacoepidemiology
  • Data protection
  • Evaluating medicines in pregnancy and breastfeeding
  • Systematic reviews and meta-analyses of comparative safety studies
  • Impact research
  • Data quality
  • The introductory paper, authored by former and current ENCePP co-chairs Xavier Kurz, Susana Perez-Gutthann, Helga Gardarsdottir, and myself, reflects on how developments in pharmacoepidemiology and pharmacovigilance have shaped ENCePP’s work.
