”AJOG Expert Review in Cesarean: The Pelosi cesarean delivery technique – Pfannenstiel incision
A) Separating the lower rectus fascia sheath off the rectus muscles and the pyramidalis muscles. B) Separating the upper rectus fascia sheath off the rectus muscles. The dissection is extended upward as far as necessary to obtain an adequate midline longitudinal incision. Care must be taken to identify the perforating branches of the inferior epigastric artery and vein and nerves as they pass from the muscle through the anterior rectus sheath. C) Opening the abdominal cavity. The peritoneum is cut with scissors toward the umbilicus under direct vision.”
