WHO Raises Alarm Over Global Burden of Child Marriage
World Health Organization shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Globally, 1 in 5 girls is married before the age of 18.
Child marriage is not only a major risk factor for early pregnancy, it also increases risk of:
- Violence
- Dropping out of school
- Mental health conditions
- HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted infections
Every girl deserves health, education and the ability to shape their future.”
