FIGO Calls for Urgent Global Action to Scale Up HPV Vaccination
FIGO (International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics) shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Cervical cancer is a preventable disease primarily caused by persistent infection with high-risk types of the human papillomavirus (HPV) and remains one of the leading causes of cancer-related death in women globally.
In this comprehensive statement, published in the International Journal of Gynecology and Obstetrics (IJGO) FIGO calls for urgent, coordinated action to scale up HPV vaccination, reaffirming its safety and effectiveness as a public health strategy to eliminate cancer.
