Catherine Monk: Reimagining Perinatal and Infant Mental Health Through a Two-Generational Lens

Catherine Monk, Founding Director at Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“What happens during the perinatal period has lifelong consequences for both parent and child.  We have an opportunity to harness the frequent contact with obstetrical health care providers and nudge systems towards accessible, community-connected, whole person care that optimizes two generation well-being.

The 4th Annual Perinatal and Infant Mental Health Conference, themed, Together, Now: Reimagining Perinatal and Infant Mental Health Through a Two-Generational Lens is happening virtually this week on June 5 from 10:00 am-6:00 pm EDT.

This conference fosters innovating thinking and collective action among clinicians, researchers, educators, trainees, policy makers, and advocates, individuals with lived experiences and community partners working across perinatal and infant mental health.

I’m especially looking forward to being part of a panel discussion that Nancy Byatt will moderate alongside Camille A. C., President of ACOG, and David W. Willis, MD, on the theme, Perinatal and Infant Mental Health Integration Across Systems of Care. Join me tomorrow on ZOOM from 11:20-12:20 PM EDT.

Here’s the link to register.”

“I’m looking forward to this multi-disciplinary moderated conversation by Nancy Byatt that I will be joining with colleagues, Dr. Catherine Monk, and Dr David Willis, discussing our collective expertise in perinatal mental health along the lifespan of birthing individuals and their families.
I look forward to sharing American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) resources and my expertise on screening in obstetrical practices among others.”
