Keshav Malhotra: Privileged to Host the 14th International Congress of the Academy of Clinical Embryologists
Keshav Malhotra, Director of Ujala Cygnus Rainbow Hospital and Chairman of Embryology of the Indian Society of Assisted Reproduction, shared on LinkedIn:
“I had the privilege to host the 14th International Congress of the Academy of Clinical Embryologists from 7th to 9th of August 2026 and welcome over 1000 of you to my beloved city, Agra.
Agra is a city that the world visits for one monument, and misremembers as the work of one man. The Taj was not built by an emperor. It was built by kaarigars. Stone cutters, calligraphers, dome masons, and above all the pietra dura inlay workers, who spent their lives fitting semi-precious stone into marble at a tolerance measured in fractions of a millimetre.
No single artisan saw the whole building. Each one was accountable for a few square inches. The monument stands four centuries later because every hand in that chain held to the same standard, on days when no one was watching.
I have never found a better description of an IVF laboratory. And we are all but Kaarigars of this field. Our work is invisible by design. The patient never sees the dish. The clinician sees a report. What holds the outcome together is a chain of small acts performed to the highest standards, by people whose names do not appear on the discharge summary.
Let me record my thanks. To the Academy leadership for entrusting this congress to Agra. To our faculty, many of whom have crossed several time zones at their own inconvenience to teach. To our industry partners, whose support made the scale of this meeting possible.
To the Organising Committee and the volunteers, who have worked for many months on things you will never notice, which is precisely the point. To my own laboratory team, who have covered for my absence with more grace than I deserve. And to my Family for always having my back.
I hope you enjoyed this congress as much as I did.”
