“It is my pleasure to attend the 2nd Trust Fertility and Gynecology Conference 2026 in Abu Dhabi, where science, engineering, and innovation come together to shape the next generation of reproductive medicine.
One of the highlights was meeting Israa Maraie, a Biomedical Engineer and healthcare technology professional whose knowledge and experience in the IVF sector, laboratory technologies, and healthcare innovation made our discussion especially valuable.
Israa introduced me to DaVitri by Overture Life, an automated vitrification technology designed to bring greater standardization, reproducibility, and efficiency to the oocyte vitrification workflow.
Instead of relying entirely on manual handling during cryoprotectant equilibration, DaVitri uses controlled microfluidics and automated fluid exchange, aiming to reduce operator-dependent variability and create a more standardized process.
As an engineer working with AI and automation in IVF, this is exactly the direction that interests me:
AI-assisted embryo assessment + laboratory automation + microfluidics + standardized workflows = the next generation of the IVF laboratory.
