Rachel Braun Scherl: What If the Biggest Opportunity in Fertility Isn’t Improving IVF?
Rachel Braun Scherl, Co-Founder, Managing Partner, and Chief Vagipreneur at SPARK Solutions for Growth, shared on LinkedIn:
“What if the biggest opportunity in fertility isn’t improving IVF, but helping more people before they ever need it?
For years, much of the innovation in fertility has focused on making IVF more effective through AI, automation, financing models, and advances in reproductive medicine.
Those innovations matter.
But this article highlights another opportunity that deserves attention: improving the path before IVF.
With unexplained infertility accounting for up to 30% of infertility cases, many people still move toward IVF without fully understanding why they’re struggling to conceive in the first place.
We’re beginning to see companies invest earlier in the fertility journey through better diagnostics, preconception care, fertility optimization, and decision support.
It’s an important shift.
Earlier insights may help patients access the right care sooner, reduce unnecessary interventions, and create a more personalized path to pregnancy.
Innovation isn’t only about improving treatment. Sometimes it’s about helping people avoid more intensive treatment altogether.”
