Rod Mitchell: The UK’s 1st Testicular Tissue Transplant to Restore Fertility After Childhood Cancer Treatment
Rod Mitchell, Professor of Developmental Endocrinology at the University of Edinburgh, shared on LinkedIn:
“Big News this morning.
I am absolutely thrilled to be able to share that we have conducted the first UK testicular tissue transplant to restore fertility in boys due to receive cancer treatment.
It’s been 12 years since we started our research programme to cryopreserve testicular tissue at the Centre for Reproductive Health.
Huge thanks to all the team who have helped to get us to this point.
