Society for Reproductive Investigation shared a post on LinkedIn:
“SRI is delighted to honor Prof David MacIntyre, PhD, as a recipient of the 2026 SRI Distinguished Scientist Award.
A global leader in reproductive health research, Prof MacIntyre is Professor of Reproductive Systems Medicine and Director of the Robinson Research Institute at the University of Adelaide. His internationally recognized program centers on how the reproductive tract microbiome shapes pregnancy outcomes, advancing both fundamental understanding and clinical translation.
Through innovative, collaborative research, he and his team have delivered landmark discoveries linking microbiome composition to miscarriage, preterm birth, neonatal sepsis, and immune regulation, as well as developing rapid point‑of‑care diagnostics using metabolomic signatures. His work continues to redefine how microbial, metabolic, and host factors interact in reproductive health.
His contributions have earned wide recognition, including the Imperial College President’s Award for Research Excellence, the 2024 J. Christian Herr Award from the American Society for Reproductive Immunology, and election as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Biology.
This award celebrates Prof MacIntyre’s scientific leadership, innovation, and sustained global impact. Please join us in congratulating him on this outstanding achievement.”
