Does the Pill Really Delay Fertility? – Fertility Plus

Fertility Plus shared on LinkedIn:

“Does the Pill really delay fertility?

Many women worry that taking the contraceptive pill for years will make it harder to have a baby. The good news? Evidence shows otherwise! A large review found that around 83% of women became pregnant within 12 months after stopping contraception, whether they had used hormonal or non-hormonal methods.

Most women see their natural cycles return within weeks to a few months after stopping the pill, and long-term use does not reduce chances of pregnancy. However, the contraceptive injection (Depo-Provera) may delay fertility temporarily.

Remember, the pill pauses ovulation but does not damage your ovaries or permanently affect your fertility.
