Barbara Palvin Welcomes Her First Child After Sharing Her Journey with Endometriosis

Congratulations are in order for Hungarian model Barbara Palvin and Dylan Sprouse, an American actor, who have officially welcomed their first child together  – a baby girl. Palvin, who announced the news on Instagram on Monday, gave birth on September 7 and is clearly taking some time to bask in newborn bliss.

The milestone comes just over a year after Palvin publicly opened up about her experience with endometriosis. In August 2025, she revealed that after years of severe period pain, fatigue and heavy and irregular bleeding, she had seen an endometriosis specialist and undergone surgery three months later.

Barbara spoke openly about a condition that can affect fertility, underwent treatment, and is now celebrating a major new chapter in her life.

Barbara Palvin Opened Up About Her Endometriosis Experience

“Just a little update and a few thoughts for those out there who could relate to what I’m about to share.”

“For some years now I’ve been dealing with the difficulties that can come with my periods. Fatigue, severe pain, heavy and irregular flow, sleepless nights on the bathroom floor. I thought this was just how it works for me. But recently I’ve been advised to seek out an endometriosis specialist to see whether my symptoms are caused by that. I’ve been going to checkups with my gynecologist every year. I thought if I had endometriosis, I would have known about it by now, but as it turns out, endometriosis can’t be diagnosed with general examinations.”

After seeing an endometriosis specialist, Palvin underwent surgery three months later.

“So I went, and 3 months later I got operated on. Since then, I finally experienced a period that was easier, and now I know the difference. If you suspect that you could have endometriosis, I encourage you to find out. It helped me a lot, and I’m grateful I did it. Early diagnosis and treatment are very important to prevent long-term complications, and now I’m more mindful about my body to act fast if needed. That’s also why I took the past 3 months to rest and fully heal. I’m excited about this new chapter of my life and now ready to get back to work.”

Palvin is one of several celebrities who have been outspoken about the condition, joining stars such as Bindi Irwin, Halsey and Emma Roberts.

Dylan Sprouse has spoken out about endometriosis awareness, sharing his support for his wife, Barbara Palvin, and others living with the condition.

After supporting Barbara through endometriosis surgery in 2025, Dylan praised her for being ”incredibly tough” and wore a yellow endometriosis awareness pin in her honour at the 2025 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. Speaking to E! News, Dylan said:

“I brought this endometriosis awareness pin; you want one? Because Barbara just went through endo surgery, and I’m handing these out tonight, just to raise some awareness for that. She was so strong to go through that herself, once she posted about it, which she was very nonchalant posting about something that happened to her, turns out a ton of people reached out to her.”

“A ton of women who had experienced the same things, and I just don’t think there’s a lot of awareness about it.”

“She’s incredibly tough. And not just because she’s Hungarian, which they’re naturally pretty tough, but she’s particularly a tough cookie, and I’m proud to call her my wife,” Dylan said of Barbara.

What Is Endometriosis?

Endometriosis is a chronic condition in which tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside the uterus. It most commonly affects the pelvic area and can cause inflammation, scarring, and ovarian cysts known as endometriomas.

Symptoms can include severe menstrual pain, chronic pelvic pain, pain during sex, heavy bleeding, fatigue, and digestive symptoms. Endometriosis is also associated with infertility, although having the condition does not necessarily mean someone will have difficulty becoming pregnant. WHO estimates that it affects around 190 million reproductive-age women worldwide.
